How to Know if You Need Tree Removal

How to Know if You Need Tree Removal

Tall trees are beautiful, but they can be hazardous if they aren\’t in good health. So, how do you decide if your trees are healthy, can come back from damage or disease, or if they should be removed for safety?

Look for Signs of Disease

While trees can recover from illness in many cases, there are occasions where too much has been lost or damaged. If this happens, then the structural integrity of the tree could have been compromised making it very easy to topple. If a tree has fungal growth on leaves, the leaves shed early, are discolored, or lack veins; then the tree may have contracted a serious disease and need to be removed.

Look for Weak Points and Defects

Splits in the bark, dead branches, or branches that are too close to your home are all things that need to be taken into account when assessing whether or not a tree needs to be removed. If a tree is showing signs of rot, it may not be structurally sound.

Make Note of The Location

Large trees that are close enough to cast a shadow over the building could be dangerous to the home; especially during storms. While the odds of a healthy, stable tree coming down on the roof of a house is lower, it can still happen, so it\’s usually best to remove any tree that sits close to the house as a precaution.
