Tree Cutting – Not a DIY Job
Almost every homeowner has been there. That big, beautiful tree is finally getting too large, is taking away some from the yard, bothers the neighbor, and needs cut down. Not a problem! We\’ll just get out our chainsaws, and get right on it… Wait a minute.
It\’s easy to make a decision to save some money and do your own tree cutting. But it\’s just as easy for something to go wrong and regret that decision for the rest of your life. Here are 3 reasons why tree cutting should not be a DIY job.
A Tree Can Fall the Wrong Way.
Don\’t listen to anyone that tells you directing a tree\’s direction is as easy as cutting in the right direction. And even if you get the angle right, it\’s difficult to impossible to calculate the tree\’s correct height. All of a sudden, a tree that didn\’t look all that big falls on your house or car, or even yourself. If even professional tree cutters can occasionally get hurt, you probably shouldn\’t take your chances.
Climbing the Tree is Dangerous.
Removing a tree often begins with cutting off the top. Doing so requires climbing and as you can imagine, that can be quite dangerous. Branches that look perfectly healthy could be dead, breaking away under your weight. And even if you get up there, you are likely not used to the equipment holding you up, which could result in further danger.
Avoid the Hassle.
Even if everything goes well, chances are you\’ll have spent a weekend with your entire family worrying about you as you use dangerous tools, climb onto a tree, and have that tree fall in – hopefully – the right direction. Having a professional tree care company performing the same work means you can go to work in the morning, and come back to a freshly cut-down tree. Nobody is hurt, your property isn\’t damaged, and you\’ll recognize that it was well worth the money!
